Job Title: Advanced Social Worker (Temporary)

Contract Length: Minimum 3 months (with potential for extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role: The Assessment & Support Team provides short-term assessment and intervention for children, young people, and families referred via MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub). The role requires swift and effective responses, working in line with Jersey's legislation and Continuum of Need guidance to ensure children receive the Right Help at the Right Time.
As an Advanced Social Worker in this team, you will:
Conduct urgent safeguarding investigations, including joint interviews with the Police.
Manage crisis situations, including emergency child protection measures and legal proceedings.
Prepare Child and Family Assessments within set timescales.
Liaise with multi-agency teams to provide tailored support.
Present reports at Child Protection Case Conferences.
Prepare cases for transition to long-term social care teams where required.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience working with complex families and teenagers.
Experience of working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.
Strong knowledge of Childcare Law and statutory social work practice.
Proven ability to manage competing demands and meet statutory timescales.
Experience in direct work with children and families in a statutory setting.
Valid Manual Transmission Driving Licence.
Enhanced DBS Check (preferably on the update service).
