Role: Arrest Referral Worker (Substance Misuse) Location: County Durham Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per year depending on experience Hours: 35 hours per week (including regular weekend shifts)

About the Role:

We are seeking an Arrest Referral Worker (Substance Misuse). This role is crucial in supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, offering offenders the opportunity to break the cycle of substance-related crime.

In this role, you will:

  • Work in police custody to assess, advise, and refer offenders to appropriate treatment services.
  • Provide harm reduction support and help individuals make informed decisions to improve their well-being.
  • Be responsible for delivering all elements of substance misuse work, including assertive engagement and motivational support.
  • Have the opportunity to make a real, positive impact on people's lives, helping them turn away from substance misuse and crime.
  • Essential Requirements:

  • A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Previous experience as a substance misuse worker, probation officer, or in a related role, or transferable skills from another field.
  • A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and helping them make positive changes.
