Social Worker - Children's Social Work Team

Location: Ballard House, PlymouthHours: 37 hours per weekSalary: £39,513 - £43,693

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work Team at Plymouth City Council. This role is ideal for passionate professionals committed to ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.

  • Develop and implement care plans that promote positive outcomes for children and families.

  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide holistic and effective support.

  • Conduct statutory visits, assessments, and reviews to ensure child safety and development.

  • Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and planning meetings.

  • Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQ)

  • Strong background in safeguarding, child protection, and statutory social work.

  • Excellent ability to build relationships with children, families, and professional networks.

  • Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
