Role Overview:

As a Refuge Worker, you'll be at the heart of the effort to support victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Your work will be both deeply meaningful and impactful, providing life-changing support through comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning, and delivering both emotional and practical assistance. You'll be a vital part of a team that helps survivors navigate the path to safety and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to victims of domestic violence and abuse, focusing on their safety and well-being.

  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments and create individual safety plans for high-risk clients.

  • Offer practical and emotional support, guiding survivors through difficult times.

  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to care.

  • Work with individuals affected by a variety of complex issues, including substance misuse, sexual abuse, homelessness, mental health challenges, and more.

Essential Requirements:

  • An active DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).

  • Proven experience in working with vulnerable adults, ideally in the context of domestic violence and other intersecting issues.

  • A compassionate, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting individuals in crisis.
