Qualified Social Worker - Family Support/Intervention Team
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Family Support/Intervention Team. You will play a vital role in supporting children and families in need of care and protection, aiming to bring about meaningful change that ensures children's safety and wellbeing within their families wherever possible.
The role focuses on assessment, intervention, and planning for children and their families under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Public Law frameworks. You will work within a dynamic multi-agency environment where collaborative working is key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and families in line with statutory responsibilities and best practice.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans and interventions.
- Work closely with children, parents/carers, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
- Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, and other statutory reviews.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and reviews.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case recordings and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local authority policies, procedures, and statutory legislation.
Requirements:
- Social Work degree (BA / MA / DipSW) or equivalent.
- Social Work England registration (mandatory).
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in children's services, ideally within a family support or safeguarding team.
- Strong assessment, report writing, and court work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant legislation/guidance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
The suitable candidate will be expected to deliver a high quality social work service to Children and their families who are deemed to have unmet needs and/or considered to be at risk of harm/significant harm.
Social Workers are expected to provide support and to develop resilience and independence, ensuring that children and their families are at the centre of decision making about their lives and the outcomes that they want to achieve without compromising the child's safety.
Skills and qualifications required:
* Social Work Qualified, minimum 3 years post qualified plus technology & software skills
* Registered with Social Care Wales.
* Team work & interpersonal skills
The assignment is for 37HPW, Monday - Friday. There is an expectation that candidate lives locally or with in a commutable distance as the position is located in Conwy County, North Wales. The worker will work from the office
