"We are currently seeking dedicated social workers for our integrated Looked After Children service. You will hold a caseload of children and young people between the ages of 0 - 18 years old. You will have good experience of working in children's social care and will have some experience in working with family law care proceedings.
You will demonstrate good working knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children, particularly the Children Act 1989 and all legislation related to looked after children and Children in Need. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills both (verbal and written) and proficient in using Microsoft Office packages.
You will be part of small group of social workers and will report to a senior practitioner. Your work will include assessment, care planning and permanency planning for children and young people which are both in care proceedings as well as children who are looked after following final court orders.
You will be responsible for progressing work within the statutory framework for Looked After Children which would include ensuring Looked After Children Reviews, Personal Education Planning Meetings, Looked After Children Medicals are progressed within statutory timescales.
You may also be working with a cohort of unaccompanied asylum seeking children and will be expected to take part in age assessments in their respect.
Co-located with our LAC CAMHS clinicians, the Virtual School for Looked After Children and our specialist health and mediation services you be skilled and experienced in working together to design creative interventions which improve outcomes for the boroughs looked after children and care leavers.
The role demands close collaboration and good working relationships across both the integrated LAC service but also across the wider Camden social work service and the multidisciplinary Camden network. "
