Locum Social Worker Children's Assessment Service

Location: Torbay

Pay Rate: Up to £40 per hour

Additional Support: Up to £150 per week for accommodation or travel

Contract: Locum, Full-time

Are you an experienced Childrens Social Worker with a strong background in frontline child protection? Torbay is seeking a dedicated Locum Social Worker to join our Children's Assessment Service, where you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 47 investigations, initial assessments, and risk assessments.

Work at the front door of childrens services, responding to new referrals and determining next steps.

Develop child-centred plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Engage with children, families, and partner agencies to gather and analyse information effectively.

Prepare reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.

Work in line with statutory frameworks and local policies.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

Previous experience in frontline child protection and childrenâ€™s assessment services.

Strong knowledge of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other key legislation.

Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
