Senior Practitioner - Friends & Family Fostering Team

Are you an experienced social worker looking for a step in your career? Birmingham City Council is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Friends and Family Fostering Team.

About the Role

As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality support for connected foster carers. You will:

  • Supervise up to three senior social workers, providing guidance and support.
  • Sign off reports and annual reviews, ensuring compliance and quality standards.
  • Hold a small caseload of six connected foster carers, offering post-assessment support as a supervising social worker.
  • Attend and contribute to team statistics meetings, reporting key insights back to the team.
  • Work in the office once a week (Wednesdays) for team meetings.
